Tibetan Phonetics app for iPhone and iPad
Developer: John Preston Chua Cua
First release : 17 Jul 2013
App size: 81.07 Mb
This app is useful for anyone who is interested in learning/hearing the phonetics ("alphabet") used in the Tibetan Language.
The app is straightforward. All you have to do is tap on the Phonetics you want to hear the sound for and the app will play the sound for you to hear.
This is the type of app that I wished was available when I was learning the basics of the Tibetan Language. I hope youll find it useful.
Tibetan Phonetics are divided into different categories.
The following is the list of the different categories and they are included in the app:
1. Thirty Consonants
2. Five Vowels
3. Consonants + Vowels
4. Tibetanized Sanskrit Letters
5. Five Heavy Sounding Letters
6. Ra Superscribed(ra-go)
7. La Superscribed(la-go)
8. Sa Superscribed(sa-go)
9. Letters subjoined (ya-ta)
10. Letters subjoined (ra-ta)
11. Letters subjoined (la-ta)
12. Letters subjoined (wa-sur)
Why learn Tibetan?
Some Tibetan/Sanskrit characters are asked to be visualized during an empowerment. By learning these characters, one is able to participate more in the process.
etc......
Just like my other language apps...the person recorded doing the pronunciation is a native speaker of that language. In this case, it is the Tibetan language.
Thank you.....
